Commissioned by Addendum’s Creative Director Hubertus Schwarz the task for this job was to come up with an illustration to the question: Are european governments as instable as they sometimes seem? – The article was published right after the resignation of the french government on July the 3rd 2020. You’ll find that the suit sleeves are colour-coded with the colours of the french flag.
Concept sketches
Thumbnail sketches are an important part of quickly illustrating concepts and ideas for the client without wasting the clients money and your own time. In this case you can see the variety of concepts I came up with and how the final outcome was much more refined. By focusing just on hands playing a game of Jenga the illustration had the same, simple metaphor without distracting the viewer with unnecessary elements.
